Renowned Psychologist Benjamin Zulu has warned parents against leaving their children with strangers or House helps.
he wrote the following on his popular social media page;
‘Be very careful before you allow your underage children to share bed with house-helps and live-in relatives. Sometimes these people are many as they come and go, and you cannot tell what kind of people they are in the dark unless it’s a person you’ve known for a very long time. Remember being a nanny is not anybody’s dream job and so people take it up because of circumstances, and some of those circumstances involve poverty and pathologies. Some of these girls were abused themselves and they carry pervasive fetishes which they often unleash on children if they’re left with them in the dark. A lot of abuse has happened because of that setup and children are given traumas that will take them decades of pain and struggles with mental health to overcome. Most children have not learnt self expression by that age or they can’t even figure out what’s happening.
It may take some financial decisions and adjustments on your part to protect your children in this respect by ensuring they sleep in a separate room, but really you have no option. Leaving children exposed to pedophiles and strangers who pass through your home can never be the alternative.’ Observed Benjamin Zulu.
