Charity Kaluki Ngilu lost her husband in 2006.
Engineer Michael Mwendwa Ngilu died on 1st July 2006 while undergoing treatment in South Africa.
Mwendwa battled the illness for close to 10 years.
Ngilu is a single mother. Ngilu is a widow. She single handedly raised her kids when her husband was in hospital for 10 years. She single handedly raised her kids after the death of her husband and father to her kids.
She has spent half of her marriage life without a husband.
Last year, Governor Ngilu opened about the loss of her husband.
Ngilu revealed that Mwendwa was her strongest pillar. ” A woman needs all the support, from the spouse especially…. I wish all women have their husbands to support them. I cry controllably during anniversaries. My heart has never healed….”

This week, Ruto is mocked Ngilu. Calling her nyanya Mzee. Calling her husband-less. Describing her as someone who can’t find a man to marry her This abusive and derogatory slang to Ngilu had people bash the Vp and warned him to respect widows.
‘Ruto has low regard for women. Not just Ngilu BUT Ruto respects no woman. Ruto should respect single mothers. Ruto should respect widows.’ Lamented one of the social media users.
